With 5:54 left in the third quarter, the Panthers had managed to drive the ball all the way to Kenowa Hills’ 2 yard-line from their own 22 yard-line in 12 plays. Sr. Quarterback Luke Bakker lined up under center with Sr. Jimmy Schackow behind him playing the fullback. Bakker had given the quick handoff to Schackow. Barrelling over Soph. Center Omar Disla, he lowered his shoulder driving the middle linebacker back into the endzone scoring his first six points since freshman year.
For the past two years, Schackow had been playing guard and tackle. “It was a tough transition going from running back to line but I was willing to help the team any way possible. Now that I am back at running back, it is exciting and I am still looking to do my best to make this team the best it can be in this position,” Schackow said. This past week at East Kentwood, Schackow had 12 carries for 40 yards at the fullback position.
This week, the Panthers have their Homecoming game against Grandville. Tailgating starts at 5pm. Black Hole members, remember to wear white for whiteout.
