“A moment in my life where I felt proud of something was when I was coaching unified baseball at the tournament at the middle school. It was the final game of the day and the middle school that I helped coach was going up against the high school team, and we coaches and some of the players had been talking about this matchup for a while. Everyone was a little nervous before the game even me as a coach, but right before the game, there was a moment that I will never forget. One of our players had everyone including us coaches huddle up in a circle and he gave everyone a pep talk before the game and encouraged everyone to do their best. I was not expecting this to happen at all, but it made me so happy to see it all unfold. The next 25 minutes proceeded to be some of the best basketball I’ve been able to coach and even watch, with kids putting all of their best i nto and doing things I had never seen them do before. Late into the game, we took the lead, and you could tell that everyone, including our team and the other team, was a little shocked. We ended up losing the game, but as a coach, that had to be one of the proudest moments I have ever experienced,” Sr. Carson Taylor said.
