Of all of the pre-Prom traditions, going out to eat is one of the most common. Many students gather in groups to go out to a fancy restaurant, and this is an important part of getting the special night started. To ensure a great night, you must start with a terrific meal. Here is a list of some great restaurants in Grand Haven on the way to the Trillium Event Center in Spring Lake.
- JW’s Food and Spirits
If a casual place is more what you want, JW’s Food and Spirits is perfect. It’s got some great American food to choose from. It has a long list of burgers like the classic cheese burger Old Faithful, a spicy Rajun Cajun, and even a Veggie Burger. It also has a selection of steaks and fish entrees to choose from. The service is great and their award winning chili is a must have. Average entree price is about $18.
- Snug Harbor
If your group can’t decide on the type of food they want, Snug Harbor is a great place to eat. They offer a wide selection of different types of food: American, Mexican, and Asian. Their menu includes sushi specials, burgers, burritos, and much more. On top of the food being great, it’s a beautiful place to eat. There is a fireplace in the middle of the main floor and a waterfront view on the second floor.

- The Kirby House
If you are looking for a really cool place to go before prom, the Kirby House is your place. It used to be a hotel, but now it is a fairly relaxed place to get some food and listen to some live music, all with a 2nd floor waterfront view. This place has a nice variety of food, from classic grilled sirloin to cashew stir fry to whitefish piccata.

What can be better than some Italian food in a redone piano factory? Porto Bello gives top notch Italian food including pizza, pasta, and so much more, all with a rustic brick wall backdrop. This place offers live music along with an amazing dining experience.
