The 2018 Grammys are set to air on CBS at 7:30 on Sunday, January 28th. Here is our prediction of the nominees that will win so you won’t have to watch.

“HUMBLE” off of Kendrick Lamar’s most recent and highly anticipated album, DAMN, was an instant hit. With incredible beats and a unpredictable flow pattern accompanied with catchy lyrics this song was destined to be great. With the arrival of DAMN and the debut of “HUMBLE,” it came as no surprise that in its first week it made number one on the hot rap songs list. In the nine months that the song has been released on the rapper’s official YouTube VEVO channel it has accumulated over 417 million views.

4:44 is JAY-Z’s first studio album since 2013 in Magna Carta/Holy Grail. Within the first week of release, 388,000 copies sold, making 4:44 his lowest album sale in its debut week ever. Despite 4:44 taking a personal all time low in debut sales, that did not stop the album from earning single platinum.

“Despacito” crossed major lines in terms of radio singles. The original song included the vocals of Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, but the song was later re-released with Bieber’s vocals. The song was a major hit. The song reached number one of the US Billboard Hot 100 list, making “Despacito” the first primarily Spanish-spoken song to hit number one since 1996. The song deserves song of the year, as the song was unique to the radio. “Despacito” also had an amazing beat and great rhythm. The song had audiences all over the Spanish and English speaking world singing “Despacito.”
Best new artist: Lil Uzi Vert
Other nominees: Alessia Cara, Khalid, Julia Michaels, SZA
Lil Uzi Vert appeared on the scene with revolutionary sound and lyrics. Hit songs such as “XO Tour Llif3” and “Do What I Want” has catapulted this 23-year-old rapper to the top of the charts. “XO Tour Llif3” has accumulated over 10 million views on the rapper’s official YouTube channel alongside “Do What I Want” raking in over 13 million views in the year it has been out. With these staggering numbers the rapper has set it is not question that he will win best new artist.
Best pop solo performance: “Praying”

After the sexual assault trial between pop singer Kesha and famous music producer Dr. Luke, Kesha released her first single off her album, Rainbow. “Praying” delivers a powerful revival performance. Kesha’s hurt and pain can clearly be heard through the powerful lyrics in “Praying.” For many, the most emotional part of the “Praying” was the high note towards the end. Combined with Kesha’s revival, the song’s lyrics, and the heartbreaking background story, “Praying” deserves the title of Best pop solo performance.

“Redbone” paved the way for the new age of vintage music. The song starts with a single beat that transitions to a funky 70’s beat. Gambino’s high pitched vocals enhance the song’s sensual lyrics. “Redbone” deserves to win Best R&B song because the song is unique to 2017’s radio.

With lyrics like “These expensive, these is red bottoms, these is bloody shoes,” audiences feel and confident due to the content of the lyrics. “Bodak Yellow” by Cardi B deserves “Best Rap Song,” not only for the great lyrics filled with confidence, but the unity the song brings to a crowd.

With “Body Like A Back Road” Sam Hunt’s hit song was able to shatter billboard records. With the high tempo style beat, this song is able to catch anybody’s attention. Passing “Florida Georgia Line” for most consecutive weeks on Hot Country Songs number one spot at 25 weeks straight. With the 11 months this song has been on the singers official VEVO YouTube channel, it has raked in a staggering 129 million views.
Best rock song: “Run” – Foo Fighters

For the song “Run,” it’s the uniqueness that sets it aside from its competitors. “Run” is undeniably breathtaking. The biggest reason the song won was the transition. The song begins slow and soft and quickly transitions to the loud, rock, guitar and drums. The song just has great guitars and nice composition. Overall, this song stands out to us the most and that’s why the song should win Best Rock Song.
