The holiday drinks are back. I repeat, the holiday drinks are back. And they are just as good as we remembered. After waiting so patiently since last winter to have our warm holiday drinks back, we can stop counting down the days and head straight to the nearest Starbucks. So after a very exciting trip back into our favorite Starbucks we got all of our holiday drinks that we hold so dear to our hearts; now in their new holiday cups that were created by our fellow Starbucks lovers that pull the holiday cheer together.
Peppermint Mocha
Hot or cold, the peppermint mocha is a classic. The tantalizing peppermint smell mixed with a chocolate aroma always leaves the heart warm. Starbucks does a great job of taking peppermint hot chocolate and giving the coffee lovers their daily shot of espresso. The drink is a perfect blend of both creamy and sweet, leaving a warm feeling in the stomach. The drink is made with milk, brewed espresso, peppermint syrup, and mocha sauce: a beautiful blend that will have one’s taste buds singing. Craving a peppermint hot chocolate with a little energy boost, then buying a Peppermint Mocha at Starbucks should be your next stop.
Chestnut Praline Latte
The Chestnut Praline Latte sounds like a drink one would curl up to by a fire while watching the snow fall to the ground through the window. The Starbucks version is not as good as expected. When taking a deep breath of the coffee, there is a hint of nutty flavoring but it seemed to be missing something to complete the winter drink desire. As the flavor first hits the taste buds it is disappointing. It is good, but nothing special. The drink is made with milk, brewed espresso, and chestnut praline syrup; however, the syrup just doesn’t give the drink the boost of sensations that one might hope for. If one’s looking for a simple coffee with a hint of nut, then try Starbucks’ chestnut praline latte.
Caramel Brulee Latte
Caramel Brulee, even the name gets one’s mouth watering. The dessert combines slowly mixed eggs and caramel sauce with the end result of a fluffy treat. Starbucks does a great job of giving the right amount of smooth creamy texture and caramel flavoring that isn’t too overpowering. The whip and caramel brulee topping tie the drink off nicely. Made with milk, caramel brulee sauce, and brewed espresso the drink is offered as both hot or cold. Looking for a drink that is creamy and sweet, the caramel brulee is a perfect option.
Eggnog Latte
This is a drink for all the eggnog lovers or anyone looking to try something new. Just like original eggnog, the Starbucks version is just as creamy and has the spices that mix together to make this drink a favorite. The main reason why Starbucks did such a great job at making an eggnog latte is they used true eggnog as their main ingredient and then mix it with milk, brewed espresso and nutmeg. Already an eggnog lover, or just a coffee rebel, trying this drink won’t disappoint. It is a hot drink to watch one’s favorite Christmas movie with and perfect to enjoy on those cold winter days.
After trying out all the winter specials at Starbucks one can see there are many options to choose from. Whether craving a mint and chocolate blend like the Peppermint Mocha or a classic like the Eggnog Latte, Starbucks will have what you are looking for.
