“The most challenging moment in my life was when my father passed away last year. But also when he was sick, I realized how hard it is to take care of a person. I had to take care of him by feeding him food and giving him medicine. He was suffering from low blood pressure. I never understood the fragility of human life, and I realized how valuable human life is. It was also hard because my mom didn’t know English well, so I had to do all the translations for her. I was carefree, and I never really understood that I would be an adult soon when I turned 18. My father’s funeral was on the same day as my birthday. It was a challenging moment because I’ve never dealt with loss before. I had a talk with my counselor, and I learned how to overcome these challenges,” Sr. Russel Khemphet said.
