“I often find myself happiest and most fulfilled when I am teaching. There is something about watching a student’s face light up when they finally understand a concept I was teaching; that moment makes everything worth it. During these split-second moments, I feel the most certain about my calling in life. For me, teaching isn’t solely for the purpose of teaching students a set curriculum. It is about building relationships with students and creating a classroom where the instructor ensures that each and every student feels seen and valued, not merely just as students but as individuals. More than anything else, teaching has given me a sense of purpose in life. It has and will allow me to make a difference, even a small one, each and every single day,” Sr. Quinn Basselin said.
