“I have been a lunch lady for 10 years. I decided to become a lunch lady mainly because of my family and my kids. I wanted to have the same schedule as them, but then I came to also love working with all of the different people in West Ottawa. I love working with all of the people and the kids. The kids and staff began calling me Ms. L and now that’s what everyone knows me as. When I first started as a substitute lunch lady, there were moments when I realized that this was what I wanted to do and become a full-time lunch lady. I wanted to have a building that I belonged to so that I could get to know everyone better and see the kids grow up. Working with the little ones at North Holland was amazing. I got to see them from kindergarten all the way to fifth grade. Now I get to work in the high school and it’s so different; it’s even cooler that I get to see the kinders I worked with all grown up,” Paklavanh Lothschutz said.
