“The biggest challenge in my life was when I went through open heart surgery. At the time I was eight. For the six months prior and three months afterward I was prohibited from physical activities like running and my favorite sport, soccer. It was a hard time but it was necessary because of my health. I’m thankful for my doctors and heart surgeon at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital,” Jr. Nathan Ward said.
