“Knowing that my life could be over by tomorrow, I don’t want to have any regrets when I go. And so, getting up in the morning is just one of those things I just have to do. In order to continue my day, family helps me get up knowing I’m supporting them or giving them encouragement. Religion helps me get up in the morning knowing I was gifted this life to spread love and enjoy the gift of passage of time. And if I am wasting that gift by sleeping 12 hours a day even though I need 8 it just doesn’t sit right with me. That just helps me get up in the morning, and competition, knowing that if I don’t get up there’s kids outworking me, getting stronger and better, and I’m just sleepin’ for no apparent reason. I love to try and push myself, whether waking up at 5 and getting a workout in or running,” Soph. Garrison Gardiner said.
