Seniors, listen up! The WOHS internal scholarship deadline has been extended to this Friday, April 12!
WOHS Instructor Lacy Otteman has sent out an email reminding West Ottawa seniors of this scholarship extension.
“We need more people to apply!” Otteman said.
Hope College Frosh. Lisette Aguillon was one of the recipients of the WO Renaissance Scholarship for the graduating class of 2023. Aguillon is extremely grateful to have been awarded this scholarship.
“I ended up using the scholarship towards my tuition and books, and it’s helped me out a ton!” Aguillon said.
Submission for these scholarships is incredibly easy! Most of the scholarships require the same three things for submission: a brag sheet of high school activities, a short essay about future goals, and the FAFSA completion confirmation.
However, there is a large list of scholarships in the handbook. The first step is to scroll through and check the qualifications. Then, check if there is extra material required for submission. If there is, don’t worry! All required information is submitted in the same email.
Hope College Frosh. Kira Guerrin was awarded the Joe Huber Thespian Scholarship for the 2023 class. For Guerrin, receiving the scholarship made her “ecstatic.”
“It felt like all of my hard work and countless hours put into West Ottawa’s theater program had finally paid off,” Guerrin said.
Materials are to be emailed to [email protected] with the subject line of [Your Name, Scholarship Name]. Just one email is needed to cover all scholarships!
