Overtime had just begun and Pablo Blanco had the ball at the top of the goal box. He juked left, then right, set the ball up to his favored left foot, ripped a shot and placed the ball perfectly in the right side of the net, just  inches away from the diving keeper’s reach. Goal!

West Ottawa Varsity Soccer finished the game with a 1-0 win and their first conference win. West Ottawa struggled throughout the game and failed to put the ball in the net. But through grit and determination, the Panthers were able to pull through and defeat the Eagles.

Jr. Pablo Blanco and Bryan Medina had big performances that helped the Panthers get the win.

“I feel like we played well. Unfortunately we could not get the ball in the back of the net during regulation, but our intensity never went down. During overtime Bryan Medina gave me a great ball which lead me to scoring the winning goal. I’m proud of our team (for) never letting up,” Blanco said.

The Panther head to Rockford on Thursday, September 24, hoping to defeat the Rams and get their second conference win.
